SriNT
KQJxxx AJx KJx J vs xx Kxxx A AKQxxx Playing 2/1, opens 1s, opps silent, whats the best auction to slam?
kenrexford
1♠-2♣2♠-3♠ The start seems easy. If Opener biews the hand positively, and bids serious 3NT, South will eventually ask questions and take the plunge. If Opener shoots low with a 4♦ cue, Responder bids 4♥ Last Train and Opener takes the plunge. As to the risk of KQxxxx and losing two trump tricks -- 1. If Opener takes the plunge, he is looking at the Jack. No problem.2. If Responder takes the plunge, he knows that Opener probably has good trumps for his "serious interest," in light of what Opener cannot have (no fitting club honors, not all three top spades, and no diamond Ace). jillybean
1♠:2♣* gf can be 2+3♠:4N (2♠ = 5+min so this hand must be worth a jump)5♠:6♠
aguahombre
What Kenrexford said seems to cover it. I have noticed that players who use 2C GF could be 2+ rebid 2D as a random noise with minimum 5332, etc, hands and let responder continue. This makes it unnecessary to jump rebid 3S with the given hand and take up room --2S shows 6 and allows Ken's auction(s) to happen.

Thats another method, it all depends on agreements. 2♦ for me is ♦'s, 2♠ is noise. We have many "expert" standards to chose from and no consensus. bid_em_up
I think I would rather be in 6N than 6♠. 6S is subject to going down on a 4-1 break (with the spade A offside). 6N will make if either black suit comes in. I will get either 5♠, 3♣*, 2♦, 2♥ = 12, or 6♣, 2♠, 2♦, 2♥ for 12 again. Even if both black suits break badly, there is also the additional chance of scoring 4♣, 2♠, 2♦, and finally some justice when hearts are 3-3 and the Q is onside, 4♥. ;) * That you can reasonably count. It's fairly simple to construct an auction to get there. I will be perfectly happy if the rest of the field is in 6S, though. :P
