kenberg
Fifty some years ago I listened to Les Paul and Mary Ford while working on my car. The following is more recent. I would say that I would like to be able to do this when I am in my nineties, that's true, but I couldn't do it in my twenties.
Aberlour10
Gibsons Les Paul will remain as his "living" monuments.
y66
In one of his obituaries, he is quoted as saying "I was always happiest playing in a club". He sure looks happy in that video. Sounds pretty good too.
PassedOut
Pretty often at rock concerts I've heard obvious Les Paul quotes woven into the instrumentals. Here is a nice 2003 interview where he talks about the first time he heard Jimi Hendrix: Rules? What Rules?. A good, long life...
ggwhiz
A couple of days ago the Bob and Tom (radio) show had a guest on that backed up Jimmy Buffet (can't remember his name) and he mentioned being off in NY one night and they all went to the club where Les played and invited audience members to join in. When Buffett got the call, he announced him as "Jimmy from Florida" said "Don't worry, you won't be up here long" etc and gave him the gears bigtime. Wish I could remember it all, it was hilarious. Another one was this pro musician couldn't get the pickin right on a particular song and asked Les how he did it. Les told him "It's two guitars".
