  1. 1. What does 2 hearts mean in this auction?

    • This is natural, a reverse showing a strong hand.
      24
    • This is natural, just showing 4+ hearts.
      0
    • This is natural, trying to expose a psych by the doubler.
      0
    • This is a strong Spade raise.
      1
    • This is not clear, but forcing for at least one round.
      2
    • This is a low level Western cue bid.

D looks too much like P I think. I guess it's just because my glasses aren't strong enough.

Now for something different :)

over

1x-p-1y-x

XX=penalty oriented. could be 18-19 balanced. denies 3 card support

1NT=3 card support, limited

2z(reverse)=3 card support, unlimited

2y=4 card support

3y=4 card support, shape

2NT=4 card support, points

something along these lines, I believe, is superior than just 'system on'

edit: D looks like P, not X as I wrote initially

In the future, please use X to signify double when listing an auction and not "D".  Thx.

Why?

The "D" could be misinterpreted as a bid of 0, accepted by next hands 2 bid.

I would have thought D = 1D = 1, just like in the good old math days...

Please don't use four letter words. (Like math.)

1) this should deny three spades if playing support rdbl 2) this shows a strong hand but may be "phony" with good long diamonds 3) this COULD be four-card spade raise, bidding around the short club, not conducive to "splinter"; perhaps Kxxx - AQx - AQxxx- x.
