nick_s
You are in 3rd seat. Love all. MPs. ♠ 7♥ A9653♦ K4♣ AJ952 p (p) 1♥ (X)2♦ (p) ? 2♦ showed a good raise to 2♥
Jlall
I would just bid 3C, my trumps are bad in a situation where trumps may break poorly (takeout double), and it's not imps, and RHOs failure to bid 2S might indicate we are gonna hit spade wastage opposite. Admittedly conservative.
karlson
Assuming 2♦ was 8-10 or so with 3 hearts, inviting looks right.
nigel_k
3♣ is plenty. Pass is possible and 4♥ is far too much. I would just invite at IMPS opposite a constructive three card raise with opponents silent, and hope to make 3♥ if partner declines. This is considerably worse than that for the reasons given by Justin. Why does everybody overbid 5-5 hands?
Phil
3♣ is warranted. Concerned pard has a little wastage in spades.

I'll also just invite with 3♣
cherdanno
(About IMPs.)Why does everybody overbid 5-5 hands?Because sometimes you might make when they misdefend, or make the wrong lead. Because often when you go down, it is still a good safe against their partial. Because sometimes opponents miss their game because they don't know whether you bid on shape or on values, and because they don't find their double fit when you don't show your second suit. Because sometimes they bid game when they shouldn't.When any of this happens, the reward at IMPs is high. The cost of 4H-2 versus 3H-1, or 4H-1 versus 3H=, or 4HX-2 versus their 3S= is not so high. Fluffy
I normally raise my 5-5 to game, but here I am just inviting, many good reasons given, adn I'll add that I don't like my ♦K much. would drive to game if ♦K was the ace or if it was on one of my suits.
