briatt
:)am familliar with 2/1, but know sayc better. I consider myself at about intermediate level. Interested in tournament play, am not acbl mbr. Like to win, but bridge is fun. Please, amiability important, willingness to communicate and listen to each other's viewpoints, willing to seek compatibility and spend some time to work out areas of disagreement, and focus more on agreement. Partnerships are always a 2-way street; everyone is prone to mistakes. A good place to find agreement would be for each party to listen to same teacher on bbo. :)
inquiry
Welcome to the Bridge Base Online Forum, Briatt. We hope you find many reason to return and post some in the other forums. As for finding a partner for online play, it would help if you also provide some of the following information. General Skill level: Time you are available to play on line:Bidding system(s) you prefer:your interest in main room? Team games? tournaments? Rating pt events?:Any other info that potential partners might need to know. Good luck!
CJSPA
I think I meet all of your requirements. I have been a BBO member for 4 weeks. Before that I haven't played bridge for 30 yrs. I used to be competitive in the region. I am just learning SAYC, but I am picking it up quickly. Maybe we can play a few hands and see what happens. I live in the Eastern time zone of the USA and am available afternoons and evenings. Cliff
briatt
gee, thx for replying, Cliff. I am retired, home almost all times, so afternoons and evening sound great. We could go to the partnership room where talking is easy. My ID on BBO is briatt. Want to tell me yours? How do I identify you other than Cliff. dartagnan9
Sharon I saw your posting, but will also send you an email, since I'm not too sure how the forum works. I'm also looking for a partner, and I'm on the West Coast (LA), and an intermediate player. I'm usually available in the weekday evenings, but can also play in the afternoon or weekend daytimes, at times. I played seriously many years ago, and recently picked it up again. I've relearned most SAYC conventions, but without a partner, don't get to drill them into my head because I never get to play them. I'd like a partner who's friendly, easy going, and polite to others (one of my pet peeves about BBO is how rude some people are in abruptly leaving games, etc - they're usually the "experts" of course!) I like to compete, am okay with discussing hands, but not with assessing blame. I want to improve, for sure, and would like to take part in tournaments, both on and offline. I'll also send this as an email. Thanks! Keith
