Why is the shown evaluation A =3.87; K =3.14; Q =1.53; J =0.62 (just for talking purposes) not used? Processing time? Cannot imagine even 0.3% for using decimal values. Why 'garbage' in trying to get not garbage out? Surely the accuracy is questionable so only gross results are trustful. Concretely, when 16 of 1NT 15-17 should accept an invite. Sims using 4321 have to be inaccureate so how fine can anything suggested by that sim be advised? 3%? 1.4%? Or only >10%? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In general, changing the values of the HCP index doesn't have any significant impact on processing time. Here's a practical example: a few monthes back Fred and Uday integrated "Dealer" into the BBO client (much appreciated, that) Dealer uses "HCP" to apply a traditional Ace = 4King = 3Queen = 2Jack = 1 point count. Many folks prefer a point count that places more value on Aces and Kings and discounts "quacks". For example, the 4 Aces Point Count valued Ace = 3King = 2Queen = 1Jack = .5 You can uses the "altcount" and "c13" commands to create your own point count system. "altcount" defines your index. "c13" invokes this index. The following script creates a Ace = 3King = 2Queen = 1Jack = .5 Ten = .2 point count scale.
