McBruce
Happened again last night: I subbed out a player on Board 4 when he did not respond for several minutes at trick two. A few minutes later, at a different table, this one just starting Board 4, I called for a sub, and the player who lost connection earlier took the seat. He had seen his partner's cards previously, and now he was bidding Board 4 again. We need to fix this, and quickly. The speed gap in unclocked is often such that a player can replay 3-4 boards (knowing all the cards) by returning as a sub.

McBruce
Gee thanks. Anyone got a real solution?
Dwingo
No, this is not a solution. This is a similar problem, which should also be addressed. 1) Once you register as a sub for a tourney, the software should disallow the player from kibitzing that tourney. 2) In the same fashion, if you are already kibitzing a tourney, the software should make sure you cannot join the sublist for that tourney any longer Currently, you can do both making it possible for subs to play hands which they have seen already. It would be suffient that appearing in the sublist is delayed until the current board is completed at all tables. If I consider to enter the sublist of a tourney, I first check how many boards are left to play by kibbing for a second just in order to see the current board number. If this would prevent me from entering the sublist, some other means should be availabe to get the required information. For example, some phrase like "Tourney will finish in 25 Minutes according to current settings" could be displayed in the tourney information pop-up. Karl Hi Karl; you hit the target again. More information about the tourney are strongly recommended. I would be sufficient to display in the tournament lobby which board every table is playing at the moment. This notice would be also a great help for TD to see which tables are playing too slow. It is always a great pleasure to read your posts. I agree 100% with you most of the time. Al
McBruce
I agree that the automated sub messsage, generated whenever no sub is on the list when one is requested, should include something like "Board 7/15" so that subs will know what they are signing up for. But in an unclocked tourney you may find that you sign up for the 7/15 position, someone else gets it before you do, and the next position is for board 3 of 15...
