guggie
Tonight i could not sleep, logged in, wanted to play in tournament, no tournament coming up soon so subscribed as sub in a running tournament, after a lobbycall for subs. This lobbycall was repeated several times, (with or without "red" players) although I was on the sublist. I asked director if i had made some mistake, done somthing wrong or whatever. No answer at all It made me rather feel like I had leprosy Is there an etiquette about handling the subs on your list or answering calls? aisha759
Hi guggie; No director would ever refuse a sub willingly.... i can only think that there were probably a few reasons why you were not asked to sub: 1) no disconnected players (usually main reason) 2) some players insist on subs who speak their language and/or play their system, so it could be that your profile wasn't compatible. 3) if there is an abundance of subs, sometimes your turn just doesn't come up. I have signed up as sub many times, without getting called.... If TD didnt answer your private message, he may be busy adjusting scores, and answering loads of other private calls... Subs are always the most precious in any tourney and very much in demand, so trust me guggie :P (maybe thats asking too much hee hee) no director will purposely not add a sub. Definitely it was nothing personal.... Try again sometime..... :D Aisha

hallway
As Aisha says every TD loves Subs . Without Subs every tournament would flounder. The 'life' of a TD simply cannot be described - only experienced. At every brief respite we check the sub list - one minute we are in a comfort zone with half a dozen on the list - two minutes later just when I need one - aargh !! they're gone !! Some TD's get into a habit of sending out those Lobby notices at regular intervals to keep the list being 'topped' up. Some use an automated message sender programmed to send out a given message at regular intervals - a necessary tool for a TD running a tournament with a large number of tables - time really is of the essence ! Either way this does not, I assure you, mean that the subs on the list are not wanted . We need and love Subs
