cnszsun
I have started to use ZAR points for hand evalution. I have to say it's very useful, i think one important factor leading to Zar's success is its simplicity especially on opening judgement, but i have one question here, can the same simple rule be applied to overcaller. Now when i overcall at one level, i may have 9-16 or even wider HCP range. How to use zar points here? Anyone has some thoughts? I know this may not be important to expert players, you all have your own judgement and evaluation system based on your experiences. But for average level players, some simple guideline here seems useful.
Zar
Hi, Mike: This thread was staying kind-of "aside" from the main Zar Points threads. I am using it now to post the numbers for the probablities in the ranges of Zar Points for the 2 hands of the partnership once the OPPONENTS have opened, which means we are in the competitive bidding zone. The formal condition we use for the purposes of this research is that the Left-hand-opponent has 12 HCP (standard-opening). Have a look at the numbers below in the next posting. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need any elaboration in any direction. Cheers: ZAR

inquiry
Hope it is readabale - this Forum-editor software makes me feel I have never seen a computer before :-) Hehehehe... It is a pain to work with. If you are cutting and pasting from excel or something, don't use tabs to separate columns. You have to pad with spaces to get everything to line up correcly. (now, don't ask me how to do that, for I do it manually myself, and you post too much for that). I am enjoying reading this new stuff, thanks. Trpltrbl
I like ZARpoints in offensive suitbidding. But as for NT and overcalling, I still use "regular" HCP till we have found fit and start adjusting accordingly. It seems to be working. Mike :D
