ACBL tourneys

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right place, but...

According to the website, the ACBL 'Win a Star' tourney will let the top 5 finishers play with a star in the tourney at 1pm Monday. Is it intended that the prize be for an *individual* tourney? Do you only get 2 boards with the star? If so, why don't the top 6 from the 'Win a Star' get a round each with him or her?

(from BBO latest news) On Sunday June 6 at 4:00PM EST (20:00 CET) a free Individual tournament will be run on BBO. The top 5 finishers in this tournament will win the chance to partner with a world class player in our first ACBL-sanctioned tournament (1:00 PM EST June 7). The winners will not have to pay an entry fee to play in this tournament.

I don't know the details, but the star will be at your disposal for an entire tourney.

The 1:00 PM EST June 7 is an individual tournament. So how is the star at disposal for the entire tourney?

Maybe it's better Micky. When you only play two boards with the star you still have 10 boards left to recover :)

(from BBO latest news) On Sunday June 6 at 1:00PM EST (17:00 CET) an Individual tournament will be run on BBO. The top 5 finishers in this tournament will win the chance to partner with a world class player in our first ACBL-sanctioned pairs tournament (8:00 PM EST June 7). The winners will not have to pay an entry fee to play in this tournament.

Looks like the mistake (originally the price was playing with a star in the individual tournament) is corrected. Too bad though it's no use for European players. 8.00 PM EST is in the middle of the night here.

The ACBL Tourney's have a note that say "READ Tournment rules", but none are posted for any of the listed events.

Second, for individuals, $1,00 per player is obvious. Is it 1.00 per pair or player for team events (that is, when I register my partnership, will I be charged 2.00, will I be charged 1.00 and my partner 1.00 when he accepts? Or is the 1.00 charged when I register cover entire partnership.

Anyway, good luck. I hope other national organizations begin running tourneys here too.

Ben
