False pairing in a tournament

This evening (european time) we had a finnish tournament with 4 pairs.

We played IMP pairs for 18 boards, meaning 3 boards a round for 6 rounds. A logical thought would be to play 2 times against the other 3 pairs. But what happened, was that we did not play at all against one of the 3 other pairs.

This must certainly be a bug int he pairing, as the results were very various all the time, meaning that no danish pairing would have done the same either.

If it was a clocked tournament, NS stays where is is, EW moves. So it must have been unclocked, where the emphasis is on pairing teams that finish at the same time.

Unclocked doesnt make sense for such a small field. For that matter, neither does clocked  with only 2 tables.

Well, as we had only 2 tables, the 2 first tables finishing first were always the same

And problem still remains, during the 6 rounds we did not play at all against the pair Tero - Vosu. But we did play 3 times against Lead10 - MarkkuM and 3 times against Janne73 - Lovetoslam.

Dear Uday,

on Feb 16 in thread "Best Movement" (http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=2182) you said "TY. I will look into replacing the standard clocked movement with this one." Of course I understand that you have a lot of work, and probably you simply did not come to this point of your to-do-list. But I take this opportunity to ask you maybe increase the priority of this item, as small tourneys could be run without replays for sure if you implemented that.

Thank you.

Karl
