DenisO
Would it be possible to have a "Hot News" page for a quick update of things like : Vugraph presentation cancelled or postponed Unscheduled Vugraph added Teaching session in BIL cancelled or postponed Most of these are announced to the Lobby but if you aren't there when they are made you don't see them Deniso
hallway
Denis, Please email me to explain how the messages from the BIL get to you. We never send BIL cancellation/postponements to the Lobby. We use the Lounge's Chat/Mail facility which sends out the message to everyone on the membership list. Chat - means it goes to all the members online at that time and Mail means that it is left as a Leave Mail Message to all those not online. So if you are not online when the announcement is made you should be getting the message the next time you log in. Depending on when you next log in some messages could be out of date by the time you get them but you will get them . We have a straight Chat broadcast to members (online only) which is used for reminders of events that are about to start or are in progress . We have a Leave Mail to all members facility - which is used for longer messages - these go to all members to retrieve when the next time they log in. The only time we message the Lobby is when we need to plead for subs !
Gerardo
Also, Vugraph cancellations/postponements are broadcasted, not sure about unscheduled vugraph, guess they are broadcasted too.

Are you saying there is a way of accessing previously made broadcasts when a member logs in ?

If you expect a vugraph running and don't see one, you can ask when you log on.You should see an hypotetically unscheduled vugraph when you log in. DenisO
[if you expect a vugraph running and don't see one, you can ask when you log on.You should see an hypotetically unscheduled vugraph when you log in.I'm afraid you are not being very helpful here Gerardo; nor was the Yellow who I asked yesterday about when the Vugraph (USBF Women's trials) might start. I knew we had lost the first session as I was logged in when Fred broadcast that there was a problem . I was trying to get info on the second session but the Yellow didn't appear to know and told me to ask Roland who wasn't even logged on!!. I'm sure Roland has better things to do than respond to multiple queries about Vugraph problems. There would be no need to ask if there was a "hot news" page where such info is given. As for unscheduled Vugraphs, as you say, you will see one when you log in. But that is by chance only. I'm sure these unscheduled Vugraphs don't just hapen at 5 minutes notice. I don't know why they can't be included in the Vugraph schedule at:http://www.bridgebase.com/online/vg.html but as they don't appear, I assume there is some problem in updating that page more frequently. If that is so, I am suggesting that some prior info could be given in the "hot news" page or a Notice Board if you prefer. Deniso
