Phil
1N. It's right on values and they haven't cashed the spades yet.
jjbrr
1N. It's right on values and they haven't cashed the spades yet. Agree. Can't imagine bidding anything else.

skjaeran
1NT for me too. Right on values and shape. Prefer a stopper, but there are hands with no perfect bid.
dicklont
I don't like 1NT, I bid 2♣ although HCP-wise this is an underbid but the hand is not worth much (yet). With a normal take out double partner is short in spades and lefthand opp. has not raised. I think that opener will have no problem at all to lead his strong spade suit when I'm playing NT at some level. If partner has the strong double he'll bid something and I comfortably raise. jdonn
Sure 1NT, the way I double the doubler often has a spade stopper anyway.
the hog
I agree with Nuno as well - 1NT.
manudude03
Thanks for the replies. I went with the concensus and bid 1NT. Unfortunately partner wasn't on the same page.[hv=d=w&v=n&n=shat53dkt3cakj854&s=s8643hkj4dqj5cq97]133|200|Scoring: XIMP1♠-X-P-1NT2♠-3NT-AP[/hv] We were both criticised quite heavily for our calls and had to make sure I hadn't lost my sanity bidding a stopperless 1N :). As it was, the defence had a major hiccup too, got the ♠K lead, then switched!
jdonn
3NT LOL

As it was, the defence had a major hiccup too, got the ♠K lead, then switched!slightly above average result at the club :) but maybe at IMPs some people would overcall 2C, or check back with 3S. Finch
I really, really, really hate bidding 1NT with no stop on this auction, but I think I would still do it on that hand. I've said before I'd never do it, but finally I think there's a hand where I would.. North had an obvious 3C bid over 2S. Forget the 'no stop' part of it, couldn't the hand be as simple as [hv=n=shat43dkt3cakj852&s=sq1093hk2dajxcxxxx]133|200|[/hv] (it's a slightly over-strength 1NT bid, but not unreasonable...and I wanted to make a point, of course!) the hog
Agree with the above. 3NT is poor; what was wrong with a 3C bid?
Codo
I think you should not use 1 NT without a stop with an unknown partner, or you must accept to pay with 3 NT -x from time to time and eventually getting booted soon after. Anyway, most of us had rebid 3 clubs or maybe 3 spade with the north hand. 3 NT was not even the 3. best bid....
