Well, he does have AKQxx of a suit, so there is some merit in accepting, particularly if your style is "invite conservatively, accept aggressively". There's no merit at all in the 4NT bid. mohitz Posted June 24, 2009 Report Share Posted June 24, 2009 I will assign the blame to West. He has a simple 3NT bid. In my opinion, East's acceptance isn't that bad with that club suit. On the bidding West didn't try to find a major suit. It looks like he has diamond length. Two minor suits running would make 6NT easy. East should have passed 4NT; however, if he is going to accept, he should bid 5♣ to suggest that a slam in clubs might be a better option than 6NT.
