barryallen
After partner opens a standard 2♣, 2♦ response followed by 2♥, what would you rebid with the following? CSGibson
Agree, 3♠ splinter, then cue-bidding my diamond ace if partner bids 3N or 4♣.
peachy
Show heart support, gf, and slam invite. Splinter if we have it on card. 3H if we don't have splinter. If we don't have splinter, I assume the partnership isn't on sure footing as far as systems go so better set trump first and cuebid diamonds and or spades later. skjaeran
3♠ splinter. Followed by 4♦ cue if I'm able to.

inquiry
3♠ - splinter, I am thinking odds are good I will not get to cue-bid 4♦ next because partner is bidding 4NT or whatever serves as blackwood. Why would you not consider 3♠? It shows support for hearts, shortness in spades, and obviously more than nothing.
Apollo81
3♠ splinter should be unanimous here.
Finch
3♠ splinter should be unanimous here. It's not that simple.I believe that you have to play the splinter here as limited, either basically nothing except four trumps and a singleton e.g.xxxxxQxxxxxxx or a hand that will drive to the five level. If you have a continuous range for your splinters, it is very difficult for partner to know whether to move past 4H or not. It's not so bad with 3S as with 4D, of course. For me, this responding hand is worth a drive to the five level, but I play my 2C openings rather stronger than many.
