So look for it as intelligently as possible. 2♣ is the most descriptive bid and will lead to the most intelligent auction. So 100% 2♣. Jumping around is never a good idea playing with an unknownpartner, nobody knows, what he would take the jump for, sotry to avoid the jump. helene_t Posted June 20, 2009 Report Share Posted June 20, 2009 When your hand is good enough to show your suits in the natural order (longest first), you should do so, since by bidding 1♥ first you wouldn't be able to show five clubs without also showing five hearts. 3♣ would show either a single-suited hand with clubs, or clubs + diamonds. Your pick up partner either psyched or is an idiot..I'd find out which and as seems likely, with idiot being the case, move on to another table. You deserve to play good bridge and not garbage.
