OleBerg
lol@overrated. are you serious? It was a joke, so no. Seriously: As it is, I have absolutely no way of knowing whether he is overrated, underrated or rated. And now for something completely different: A man with two noses. y66
I was in Mt. Airy, Maryland this morning looking at used bricks. I believe this is near kenberg's stomping grounds. There must be some money in this business because the owner said he owns properties in Maryland and Aruba worth $ 2+ million each and another one in Miami which he didn't give an estimate for, in addition to the business property. I've met several guys in the construction business lately who have sideline businesses as property owners. They're starting to sound like dentists. I liked this guy. He told one of the workers to cut the engine on his front loader because the noise was spooking my dog.

y66
In Praise of the Great Bull Walrus by Alden Nowlan I wouldn't like to be oneof the walrus peoplefor the rest of my lifebut I wish I could spendone sunny afternoonlying on the rocks with them.I suspect it would be similarto drinking beer in a tavernthat caters to longshoremenand won't admit women. We'd exchange nocosmic secrets. I'd merely say, "How yuh doin' you big old walrus?"and the nearest of the walrus peoplewould answer,"Me? I'm doin' great. How yuh doin' yourself, you big old human being, you?"How good it is to share the earth with such creaturesand how unthinkable it would have beento have missed all thisby not being born:a happy thought, that, for not being born isthe only tragedythat we can imaginebut need never fear. from What Happened When he went to the Store for Bread. © The Thousands Press, 2000. Fluffy
My roommate is gone for work and I've been taking care of his cat for the past several days. She's easily the most annoying creature to live with ever. She has no problem scratching on my door to wake me up too early in the morning. You can try to teach her not to do so, as I did to my old cat. Whenever she woke me scratching the door when she wanted to go up I would hit her. She learnt quickly: After scratching the door and making sure I was awake she would run and hide under the bed, waiting for me to open the door and go to sleep, then she would go out without danger. kenberg
We got three inches of snow. In Minnesota this would not be noteworthy. In Maryland, in October, it is. This is what passes for excitement in the life of a retiree.

jjbrr
I met some deaf communications majors last night. They weren't deaf themselves; in fact they quite liked to talk to people who, like themselves, aren't deaf.
Winstonm
I'm sorry, did you say something?
jjbrr
Fortunately I know how to say "I'm sorry; I'm stupid" in sign language. Just like any foreign language, if you at least give it a try and show some level of competence, you get a lot of respect.
