MarkDean
[hv=d=e&v=n&s=sqj963hakqdq4cak6]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] LHO starts with a pass, but RHO is dealer. So we summon a director, and partner declines to accept the call. LHO now must pass at his first opportunity, but can bid afterward. The opps are good players playing 4 card majors. RHO now opens 1♠. What is your call?
kenrexford
One funny option is 2NT. Partner picks a minor, Opener passes, YOU PASS, and LHO bids 4♠, ruining the fun of RHO's psychic 1♠ opening.
hanp
I would double and bid 2NT.
Tcyk
kenrexford is correct. It is the perfect time for a psyche and we must look out for that. I have no partnership agreement on how to handle this situation. Over partner's response, I wouldn't have enough nerve to pass and would bid 3♠ to show a true ♠ suit.
