kenrexford
♠AK109xx ♥Kx ♦x ♣Jxxx 1♦-1NT-P-? Mild slam try? (2♥...4♠)
hrothgar
♠AK109xx ♥Kx ♦x ♣Jxxx 1♦-1NT-P-? Mild slam try? (2♥...4♠) I'm feeling conservative on this one. Partner's NT overcall promises Dimaond values opposite our stiff.I'm also worried about the Clubs.
ArtK78
Seems reasonable. Partner with controls and a fit can move over 4♠. Seems like he should be in a reasonable position to judge whether to move on.
kenrexford
As it turned out, partner had made a VERY aggressive 1NT overcall with ♠Jx ♥QJ10 ♦KQJxx ♣Axx and will not remotely accept. But, was curious.
RichMor
How about a transfer and then an auto-splinter jump to 4♦. Overcaller can judge the amount of Diamond waste. With the example hand you posted, overcaller can put on the brakes.

jdonn
I would not put a partner who overcalls 1NT on that hand in a position when he has to take over 90% of the tricks on any hand, ever. I don't think he would be able to handle it. But with someone else, why not transfer to spades then show a diamond splinter however you do so? Partner can tell us if he has diamond wastage rather than us guessing for him.

Well, to be honest, I did actually just jump to 5♠ invitational, to make sure I played it for that reason. :P The lead into my hand helped -- I scored up the make. mtvesuvius
No... I guess I may transfer then splinter in ♦ just in case, but unless I am feeling really optomistic, no I won't.
hanp
Definitely splinter.
skjaeran
Transfer and splinter looks obvious.
