Do you double, settle for 4 hearts, or try and investigate slam? Any special treatments here?
P_Marlowe
4H. The problem comes next round. I am not going to look for slam, I am not going to double(partner will never give me 5 card support), 4H is whatis left. If 5C comes back, I will X, not feeling to happy about it. With kind regardsMarlowe

jdonn
4♥, hope it makes.
kenrexford
This is a somewhat ironic situation. When RHO bids 4♣, we lose space to explore slam, but we also don't like slam chances all that much. For, we expect partner to have two clubs, where our stiff loses value. Change the call to 3♣, and we not only get more space but we also like slam chances more. Now, we expect partner to have five hearts without a loser, three clubs compressed into one loser, and five more cards with two covers against those cards. Give partner two more interesting cards (spade Queen, diamond Ace), and we already may have play for six (maybe the fourth spade comes in). I mean, compare: ♠Qxx ♥K10xxx ♦Axx ♣xx ♠Qxx ♥K10xxx ♦Ax ♣xxx
neilkaz
Looks like a routine 4♥ call to me.
Phil
4♥ is pretty obvious. At first I read the OP as 1♥ - (4♣) - ? which makes it a much tougher problem.
OleBerg
Wish I had 4♦ available as a good raise. (It would probably set up a force, but thats fine, even though 5♣ might make on a rainy day.) As it is, I have to settle for 4♥.
