Aberlour10
A few days ago I read about the attempt one of the online sites to enter The Guiness Book of World Records by hosting the "World's Largest Poker Tournament".I don't know about detail facilities in official recognizing such a records, but why not try to organize something similar at the BBO if the "Guinness" would allow it ? Is just only a general idea... what, how, who, when etc etc could be discuss. In my opinion all what can bring a "piece" of good publicity for BBO is worth to think about it. What do you think? :D Robert
kenrexford
I'm sure we would win, especially if we did it by weight rather than by pure head count.
helene_t
Might be difficult to beat this world-wide pairs tournament that is played at clubs everywhere simultaneously (what's it called?) Also I suspect it would require software changes to allow for a tourney with tens of thousands of participants. But maybe, rather than making a very large tournament, a set of boards could be allowed to be played an unlimited number of times in the main room, in that way the scores for those boards could constitute a tourney with a number of players close to the number of active players at BBO. Fluffy
Not sure if the program/server would sustain a very large tournament, but I think it is worth a try.
Gerben42
I'm quite sure we'd be able to beat this world wide tournament, it's just a matter of setup.

BillHiggin
Lol, just imagine asking for 1422 subs at the same time Hmm - what is the Guiness record for most subs needed in a bridge tourny?

Don't you ever notice that bridge tournaments are often held in basements, on the first floor when there is no basement, or in very large buildings? A coincidence???? I don't think so.
jdonn
I'm not heavy for a bridge player, but I'm sure plenty heavier than before I was a bridge player. It is not a coincidence.
TimG
How about longest continuously running bridge game? Or, maybe even card game for that matter.
