Quantumcat
[hv=d=s&v=n&s=shat42dkqjt873c75]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] The auction goes: 1D (2S) 2NT (4S) 2NT shows clubs. What would you bid. And what if the 4S bid was only 3S, or you held 3 clubs and one less diamond.
Cascade
Is 3♣ wide-ranging or essentially unlimited in terms of strength?
mich-b
5♦. If they bid only 3♠ , I think 4♦ is enough. If (over RHO 4♠) my minors were 6-3 , I would try 4NT offering choice between 5♣ and 5♦.
helene_t
I think it is common to play 5♦ as weaker than 4NT followed a correction to 5♦. I am assuming that it isn't of interest to find look for a hearts fit here. Otherwise the sequence would have shown diamonds+hearts. Maybe I have it backwards, after all a scrambling/gb/lebensohl 2NT is used to show a weak hand so a scrambling 4NT could be used in the same way. whereagles
This is a 5♦ bid. The hand plays diamonds, ONLY.
mtvesuvius
This is a 5♦ bid. The hand plays diamonds, ONLY. Well said. 7 card suits missing only the ace don't look too good when in dummy.
