DougDSCSU
Red on White, Imps, Dealer opens 3♥, after some hesitation your partner passes, and RHO bids 5♥..your hand is: [hv=s=skxhxdakjxcakq10xx]133|100|[/hv] I can really only see 2 options here, 6♣ or 5nt, which do you prefer? If you choose 5nt, is it easy to take the low road with: [hv=s=skxhxdakjxcakq10xx]133|100|[/hv] or do u go for the glory? Thanks.
kenrexford
The note about the hesitation is a tad weird. On the one hand, a hesitation is required, so that just seems like noting that partner did what he was supposed to do. On the other hand, taking inference would of course be bad. On the third hand (?) there can be no inference unless the hesitation was more than 10 seconds or out of tempo from partner's usual hesitation. Anyway, to the bidding. Ugh. Um, 6♣. Partner, with that hand, should probably bid to 7♣. But, a careful 6♦ on route yields probable rewards. 6♦ cannot be an offer to play, IMO. It has to be a choice bid for the grand. jdonn
The one that leaves open the possibility we will get our largest possible plus score if we can't make anything.

whereagles
The hesitation probably means pard has short hearts and has ~10 hcp, thus close to bidding. Still, I think 6♣ is normal. To bid 7 here is too hard unless you take into account the unauthorized info. You'll get rolled back to 6-something by the Director.

the hog
6C. Don't like doubling here as they may even make 5H and you have 6C on.
hanp
I would double. If partner bids 5S I will pull to 6C.
Fluffy
I would double. If partner bids 5S I will pull to 6C. On the given hand he is bidding 6♠ I think, I guess you are also pulling now :)

Why wouldn't he bid 5NT and offer us a choice of suits? We can very easily have three spades and 4, 5, 6 diamonds.
hanp
6S by partner would be terrible.
