During the Viet Nam years, when my student deferment was revoked and I was re-classified 1-A, I neither ran to Canada nor rushed to the Marine recruiting station to volunteer. Make what you will of it.

i rushed to the navy recruiting station B))

I made this poll because it annoys me to no end that Dodger Stadium has everyone stand for "God Bless America".

Don't they also ask everyone to stand when they sing "Take Me Out to the Ballpark"? It's during the 7th inning stretch, isn't it?

Not only stand but at Wrigley you must sing it.

Lol, reminds me of when my cousin married a guy who had never been at a church wedding so didn't know when he was supposed to say "yes". He said it long before the priest finished asking the question.

This is why they make the guy go to a rehearsal.

Last week when I was at the Double A game, they also asked us to stand for "YMCA". And, there was no "God Bless America".

I think I saw an article last week about a guy walking around Yankee stadium and refused to stop walking during the Nat. Anthem and the cops kicked him out.

If we all could only sing "Take me out to the Ball Game" as well as Ozzy Osbourne...

I'd be happy to sing "Children of the Grave" as well.

Yea, but they don't show it on tv.

And one can sit during it, you don't HAVE to rise.

And the cameraperson seems to think that they can't show anyone who doesn't have their hand over their heart during GBA. If there is accidentally someone, they quickly pan away.

Do they kick you out if you don't stand for God Bless America? I'm astounded that anyone has to rise for the song even if it is encouraged.

I haven't been to Fenway Park in many years, long before the playing of God Bless America became common, so I don't know if they do it there. But, they don't show it on the Red Sox TV broadcasts. Nor it it shown during away games. At least not routinely -- I will not swear to never having seen it during a Red Sox broadcast.

He's never seen a wedding on TV, either? I'm pretty sure that long before I'd ever attended a wedding in person I could say how the ceremony goes, from having seen dozens of them on TV.

Another explanation is possible:

A lot of shoes, a lot of rice

The groom is nervous, he answers twice

It's really killin' that he's so willin'

To make whoopee
