How do you play 1m 2H?

I read today that some experts play 1m 2H as a balanced 11-12 and 1m 2N as a balanced 13-15.

If you have experience with this do you like it?

In BWS 2001, 1m 2M shows a strong suit (at least five to at least two of the top three honors) and one of three hand-types: long suit, good support, balanced or near-balanced. 1m 2N is natural and invitational.

I like it, but it's technically midchart in the ACBL, which is enough of a reason for me to not play it.

Its only midchart if a jump shift can have multiple meanings I think. I'd be shocked if BWS plays it multi-way, but I could be wrong.

I prefer:

2 = Reverse Flannery (5-9)

2 = Balanced 11-12.

2N = Balanced 13-15

General chart jump shifts must either:

(1) Be natural bids (i.e. weak or invitational jumps).

(2) Be a raise of partner's suit.

(3) Show game forcing values.

(4) Show length in each of two known suits, 5+ in one and 4+ in the other.

Note that 2 or 2 showing 11-12 balanced is not general chart. Both are obviously fine on the mid-chart since they are "constructive" responses.

On the other hand, reverse flannery is fine.

The BWS definition is always game forcing, it's just the "Soloway style" strong jump shift. So even though there are multiple meanings, it falls under the third category.

I like 2 shows a balanced invitation, and I also like squeezing in another hand type since it's a shame to waste the space. I have played it can be that hand with a strong jump shift with hearts, or that hand with a type of diamond raise. Both worked well for me.

It is not GCC legal since it's artificial but not game forcing (and not any of the other legal meanings.) But that is just dumb since the opponents won't want to compete over a balanced invitation very often anyway, and if they do it's obvious double shows hearts. But anyway I am not trying to start a GCC bash fest, I understand that for better or worse this sort of thing wasn't even considered and won't change now.

So, if I play 2 "three-way" (that is the name we give it here):

1m 2 (either 13+ with club support, balanced no 4-card Major or 6+ strong hearts)

Then it is prohibited in ACBL-land?

i like 2be used for weak transfer jump shift.2、3、3、3

also be used for transfer jump shift,means 7 +cards ,two cards of tree top.3

means anyone solid suit with 7+cards.

For the folks that play 1m - 2M as something other than a strong jump shift, how do handle the classic strong jump shift hands? i.e. Slam invitational single suiter and slam invitational two suiter with primary support for opener.

For the first type, I'd guess that you have to play 1M...3M as a GF? Correct?

For the second type, go through FSF maybe?

Thanks in advance

For me, what I like depends on the sequence and seat. As an unpassed hand, I like it to show a high-end weak two in hearts, like Gerben -- 8-11 or so. Invitational.

If I'm a passed hand, I like 5, 4-5, and weakish. 2, instead, shows 5, 4-5, and max for a pass.

If I'm a passed hand, and I hear intervention, I like 2, whether jump or not, as a fit-bid.

If by 13+ points you also mean game forcing, then that's allowed GCC (since any artificial game forcing response is allowed). Most of the other meaning people are discussing (balanced invite or various strong) are allowed under the ACBL MidChart.
