kenrexford
♠x ♥Q10xxx ♦A ♣Jxxxxx White on red. Q1: Do you open, and, if so, what? Any second or third options? (Q1B: What's your choice for sexiest option if you don't pass?) Q2: If you happen to choose 2♥, and IF the auction continues 2NT-P-3NT to you, do you bid 3NT. Some answers to anticipated questions: -second seat after a pass (would a different seat change the answer?)-your team is on par or better (would this matter?)-IMP scoring, team format, but first board (would this matter?) Phil
Are you kidding? OK, w/r I can see a 2♥ opening with Gilbert (he'd open 3 (no joke)). I don't understand Q2. With anyone normal this is an obvious pass.

kenrexford
Oh, come on now. I mean, this is a CLEAR 3♣ opening third seat at these colors.
jdonn
I would rather open 1NT than anything else. It's actually the perfect shape for it.

ArtK78
Is Rod Serling standing in front of Ken while he is presenting this problem? "Submitted for your approval....." Also, Ken, you failed to anticipate the obvious question: "What are you smoking?"

kenrexford
Is Rod Serling standing in front of Ken while he is presenting this problem? "Submitted for your approval....." Also, Ken, you failed to anticipate the obvious question: "What are you smoking?" For the record, I was presented with this problem by a friend, and muy choice was pass. However, when asked about the actual choice at the table (2♥), my response was that a real man opens 3♣ if you are going to open. In practice, the actual auction went P-2♥-2NT-P-3NT-? At that point, I said, "In for a penny, in for a pound" and suggested 4♣, the action taken at the table for -1100 (the defense slipped a trick). In fairness, though, 4♦ by partner as a correction actually wins IMPs. (Partner held 5-0-7-1 shape).
dake50
Open 1H. Over 1NT,TO-X, partner 2C xfers to 2D, quits.
Rossoneri
Sounds familiar, partner opens 2H, rebids 4C after opps have bid to 3NT and we go off for a number.

However 4♣ on the next round is utterly insane.
OleBerg
In third seat, non-agregate: 3♣. Very sexy, but to risky in other positions. (Sounds saucy. :P )
