Pass - (Pass) - 1C - (2C) -

You play a 12-14 NT at this vulnerability, so 1C is clubs or a strong NT. 2 is Michaels.

If you pass or X, LHO bids 2 which comes back around to you. Now what?

Over Michaels you can play that 2M is a stopper. Or you can play unusual/unusual. Double is usually penalty in one of their suits.

A delayed double is typically cooperative, denoting some sort of balanced hand.

I double

Consider playing Garozzo 2/3 Doubles.

We can give Benito the credit for the method, but our own frequent poster Glen (ashton) describes this convention well on his page...see

http://www.bridgematters.com/victory.htm

What you do here, is double the cue-bid, assume first LHO bids a major. Partner will double with 2 or 3 cards in that suit, and pass with 1 or 4 (and bid with a void). If LHO and partner passes, and RHO bids a major, you double to show 2/3 in the suit (if you had more, you would pass and await partners double).

Hi,

X, seems clear.

Now the only open issue is, did the X create a forcing pass

sitiuation, at least on the 2 level?

I would say yes, but since I am a passed hand, this is not

100% clear cut.

If the X did create a forcing pass, than partners pass showed

a semi bal. hand. => I would make X, if 2S comes back.

With kind regards

Marlowe
