A Political LOL

I find it interesting that is was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another democrat president, Jimmy Carter. And I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence

This is of course not true... Gerald Ford was president at the time, but I think it warrants a good LOL.

Bachman is an embarrashment. i took this from

:

http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/...r_1930_tariffs/

Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) on the floor of Congress, blaming Franklin Delano Roosevelt for the “Hoot-Smalley Act”, which apparently raised tariffs and deepened the Great Depression.

Of course, the Hawley-Smoot Act (named after the Act’s Republican sponsors) was passed in 1930, as anyone who’s seen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off knows.  (Rooservelt was not president then - inquiry)

Also worth mentioning–Franklin Roosevelt was opposed to the tariff hikes.

This would be very funny if it wasn't for the fact she gets to vote on laws that effect us all.

The Minnesota state bird is the loon. There may a connection here with Ms. Bachmann.

i thought it was the mosquito.

oh well.

live. learn.

I think that is Florida.

Edit: I forgot that Florida elected both Jeb Bush and George Bush, which automatically means their state bird must be the Dodo.

Mosquito must be either Mississippi or Louisianna, then.

The common third-finger bird must be New York?

A little searching on the internet turned up some facts.

Charles August Lindbergh, the father of the Lucky Lindy, represented the same district (sixth) from 1907 018917. The father opposed American entry into WWI, the son of course was a well known advocate of America First and staying out of WWII. Of course arguments over American involvement in foreign wars are not yet over.

Garrison Keillor was born in Anoka, part of the sixth district. Keillor was brought up as a Fundamentalist Christian.

We can guess that Keillor and Bachmann (two n's in her name it seems) don't agree on much.

I grew up in Minnesota. It's a great place. I can't explain Michelle Bachmann. What was it Billy Joel said? Everyone goes south every now and then?
