Advanced XYZ

Does anyone know where I can find details on the XYZ convention, particularly versions other than are somewhat advanced?

Also, the same for Forcing Stayman (which may have similar responses to XYZ).

I tried to search for the text string "XYZ" for information about that convention, but I am having trouble searching since it gives me a warning about it being less than four characters in length.

Can someone explain how I can search for all posts in these forums with the text string

xyz

appearing anywhere in the post?

Hi bud,

There is an excellent two page article on the internet by Stephen Levy from late 1990's enttiled "What the Pros Play". I thought that had a section on xyz in it, but googling xyz and that title failed to find it mentioned by that name. I didn't feel up to reading the whole thing to see if it is there with a different name, but the website is...

What the pro's play (part 1) and What the pro;s play part II

If that doesn't help you and if you can find nothing else that suits your needs, you might look at an overly complexed version of xyz I sometimes play. The fact is, if you can't remember it, it is useless, so as you read it, adopt only what feels like a natural extension to how you would play. My excessively long version is at:

Full fledged XYZ Version A lot of that is taken from others, some is added by me in a way that made sense to me at the time. I doubt I can remember all of it now, and in fact, the various odd options rarely come up so the tax on memory is probably too much.

It is in the beginning of the second part, under the name "both minors forcing"

1) first off all you need to agree what xyz means.....example lets assume100% of all one level bids equal 1x=1y=1z

2) now you need to agree if after one level xyz.....2d=100% game force?

3) now you need to agree if after one level xyz 2c shows a) sign off in 2d or <_< when invite?

4) now after one level bids of xyz including 1nt you need to agree what a jump to 3 level means..

5) after one level xyz what does 2h or 2s mean?
