JLOL
Pass and pull to 4H is typically 64. Direct 4H is typically 55. Double is good diamonds.
Cascade
Pass and pull to 4H is typically 64. Direct 4H is typically 55. Double is good diamonds. Both doubles? The one you would make and the one partner makes that you are pulling?
whereagles
This situation requires clear agreements with pard. I'm glad it's rather uncommon
Phil
Lets say the Opener held: JT9xx, Qxxxx, AK, x. Would you say this was a clear 4♥ call? I don't know about you, but this isnt an opener for me, but it was the hand in question.
whereagles
I don't think it's obvious. In fact, I would pass 4♦ and leave pard's double in!! Heck, pard may have a 2326 or someting and we can't make a thing.
andy_h
Direct 4H: Decent 5-5/6-4, more 5-5'sX: DiamondsPass and 4H: 5-4/5-5/6-4 The hand in question I'd pass and pass partner's double.

peachy
Pass and pull is stronger (or 6-4) than direct 4H (distributional and unwilling to defend 4DX). Double indicates some trump tricks in 4DX and inclined to defend. If partner pulls, we are trying for slam. I liked han's examples.
