mikeh Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share Posted April 29, 2009 I agree with Josh.... there is an argument for a 4-level transfer then 5♣ exclusion, but there are lots of downsides... you tell the opps way too much, re the opening lead, and after all, partner's AK of clubs may be exactly what you need. hanp Posted April 30, 2009 Report Share Posted April 30, 2009 I think you should play that a Texas transfer followed by 5C is exclusion and 3D followed by 5C is a void splinter (or the other way around but this is more natural to me.) If I decided to bid scientifically then I would definitely use the void splinter. This sounds good, but look at the experts who get the perfect hand for it, and still just blast 6 :P.
