vsmague
The competitive bidding is now very performant with the possible use of robots (with web-based interface) and Delear language for setting hands. But for efficient competitive bidding, I think it would be great to set the dealer (it is not possible neither with the dealer instruction nor in the pbn files). For instance, if we want to train to manage 1x-2♠ - ?? sequences, the actual rotation of dealers is not very convenient. Any other opinion on this topic ? paulg
Using dealer for this type of practice I normally fix the opener using the BBO controls. It means that only one player has the problem after 1x-2♠-? but you can always swap over if that is important. Paul
vsmague
I didn't find out how to fix the dealer. I tried the instruction "dealer south" in the advanced settings but it fails. Is there an other way to do that ? Tks
fred
In the web-client, the dealer is controlled through the user interface itself (as opposed to through the parameters you send to the Dealer program - the Dealer parameters to set the dealer will be ignored). Use the checkboxes in the General tab of the Deal Source dialog box to specify which of the four seats you would like to have as possible dealers. If you select more than one possible dealer, the software will change the dealer (rotating clockwise) each time you click the Redeal button.
