Fasteddy
You hold:xJTxxxxxxAxxx The auction begins 2♣ (strong) - 2♥ (2 controls) ; 2NT - 3♦ (transfer) ; 3♠ (non-specific super-accept). What's your next call? Bonus question: If you bid 4♣ and pard says 4♦ (last-train), do you bid 4♥ or 4♠?
Lobowolf
This is a really tough one. Partner might have something like: ♠KQx♥AKQx♦AKQx♣Jx
gnasher
I'd sign off. Partner already knows about my ace, so all I have in the way of extra values are the jack of hearts, which is partially wasted opposite four-card support, and the four-card side suit, which is somewhat lacking in body. If you do bid 4♣, it ought to show a second suit, to allow partner to judge how well his hand fits. Having bid 4♣, I certainly wouldn't show any more interest after that. miguelm
Yes, 4C. 4S next. Hopefully, my partner already knows where my 2 controls are, and I am pretty confident about the 5th level being (more or less) safe so I really like 4S here... Phil
If we are going to have these agreements, lets add it 3N as a spade cue.
hanp
I would also play partner for KQx AKQx AKQx Qx and sign off.
OleBerg
3NT. And then pull the brakes.
skjaeran
I'd not cuebid the ace partner knows I'm holding.A cue now should show a singelton, and 4♥ be a signoff. I'd prefer to be able to bid 3NT showing a spade singleton here. If that's not possilbe, I'd signoff with 4♥.
Codo
Many people seem to be influenced from another thread we had about this hand, but there is a difference: HEre 3 Spade was just a superaccept and does not show anything in spades. Partmer may hold xxx,AKQx,AKQx,KQ and needs to know your side suit controls. So I guess all 4 Heart bidderss are missing too many slams. I would try 3 NT as a spade cuebid if this is what I am playing, 3 NT as serious if this is my approach or a simple 4 club if nothing else is avaiable. And I try 4 spade over 4 Heart if I have too use the last approach.
whereagles
The spade singleton may be golden, but are we sure pard knows our 2 controls are the club ace?? If so, then one could try 4♠ now. If not (my opinion) I'll just bid 4♥.
