Z_Sam221
When I want to play in a free tournament, I get a list which includes both private and non-private tournaments. To join a non-private tournament I have to join any number of private tournaments and be told that they are private. The tournamet list should contain an indicator for the private tournaments or better yet we should be able to choose which type we want to view - (public, private or both)
Old York
I agree Most free tournaments show a padlock. This can simply be "no enemies" but can often be "friends only", "include custom list", "private club" etc It is increasingly difficult to find free, friendly, well run tourneys that are open to all BBO members. Obviously, this is because many tournament hosts have had severe problems with disruptive players, but innocent players are being excluded too Disruptive players should be reported to abuse@bbo and have their membership suspended, but too many slip through the net Tony

helene_t
It's quite easy in the windows client, but in the flash client it's a pain to find out whether I am allowed to play in a particular tournament. Especially if I have a slow connection so it takes some secs for each tourney I click on, just to find out that I can't play. Also, the "country/language" restrictions are not very helpful since I still don't know which country or which language it is. Maybe that's intentional, because otherwise too many people would change their flag to meet the criteria? As for the "language" restriction, it would be nice to be able to specify in one's profile which languages one can communicate in. Not all Canadians speak French, some Dutch do. Also, I never remember whether a friends/country restriction is an "and" or an "or". This is difficult to explain to people who are not mathematicians/linguists/computergeeks and/or are not proficient in English. Best would be simply to make an option "show only tourneys I can play in".
1eyedjack
There are a number of possible enhancements in this area that could (hopefully) be solved with a (hopefully) minor design change, as I mentioned in another thread, here http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?sho...ndpost&p=354052 (post with date/time stamp 22 March 2009 at 10:08, although that may vary depending on your local time settings?) My comments were of course referring only to the web interface, and I think it unreasonable to expect any enhancement in the Windows version in this area.
