I play

pass - 1M

2N

as clubs, but others play it as 5-5 minors.

pass - 1M

1N - 2x

2N

is just 10-11

I play the first auction 9-11ish with both minors, and the second auction natural. (Max-ish balanced-ish passed hand with stuff in the unbid suits, in a perfect world).

If you played the Bridge World Standard of 3NT after a 1M opening as a 5-trump 4M bid with some defense, then why not play the same thing as a passed hand but bid 2NT instead to keep you a level lower?

Reasonable approach, but 3M shows roughly the same thing.
