S should bid 3 over 2NT.

I would hate this. It had worked here but let us to 3 NT with no fits and 14 hcps or some shaky 7 card fits opposite millions of other hands.

I like the bidding, sometimes you play the wrong strain on the wrong level.

I dont understand.. What other hands? didn't partner show about 11hcp?

Doesn't South with a 14 count (plus some useful intermediates) has a routine accept of the invitation?

And, while accepting, isn't it routine to show the 3 card fragment?

Responder showed 10-12.

Opener also has a single Ace, which a feature which at least some player

would consider a minus.

So all in all, it is a matter of making the right decision.

With kind regards

responder showed: 10-11 HCPS and no particular fit and no long suit.

So he should have something from 1525 to 2434.

Of course, you can construct hands, where 3 NT is still making, or where 4 Heart comes in because you find partner with a 2533 with not much wasted in clubs, nice fillers in spades and solid 5 hearts.

But I belive that there are too many hands where 2 NT socre better- even with imp-scoring. But maybe a sim will proofe me wrong....

The standard BBO-FD cards don't help much

Sayc/Acol/Natural:

1-2-3-ppp {why is 3 shown as forcing on FD?}

2/1

1-1NT-2-3 (if invitational) or 2 (constructive)

Either way opener should pass with 7 losers

I must be missing something. I don't get this at all.

2NT looks like a good landing spot to me.

4 requires AK to be onside and no diamond ruff.

3NT requires a non-club lead. (or several cards to all be well placed)

I don't mind missing either of these.
