You know 100% that partner would take it as penalty. This happened to my oops who like very old fashioned bridge. One of their rules reads "after somebody bids NT all doubles are penalty".

I wouldn't double even if it was penalty. We have 4 tricks and partner hasn't shown much other than length in my long suit. There is significant chance they make and a small chance they run effectively.

 

It is close though since we are beating them 2 a reasonable amount of the time too.

Seeing the title of this thread, I thought I had done something wrong. lolol

 

Pass: you are still on a minimum, balanced opener, and I suspect the an X here is more card showing. I would like to dbl, i don't think they can make it, but to do so would also give rho another chance. Partner still has another chance to bid.

I know. Wrong again! my excuse is that I am a poor bridge player!!!

 

(another plug for 13-16NTs. makes life so much easier.)
