mtvesuvius
NV vs V at IMPs, you hold: ♠ x♥ AKQJT♦ Txxx♣ Qxx 1♥ - (1♠) - 3♦* - Pass? *Limit Raise with 4 Card Support

rogerclee
I would even bid 4♥ opposite a mixed raise. Come to think of it, I would also bid 4♥ opposite a regular preempt.
655321
4♥ for me too. Maybe we are cold for game. Maybe LHO will be encouraged to bid again if we sign off in 3♥, and get to a good spade contract.
kfay
My motto in life.... I BID GAME!!

dicklont
I bid game but I'm not so sure it will make. When partner has wastage in spades we're in trouble. When partner has his values in the minors I think it will be on a finesse. The method: why 3♦ for a limit raise?2♠ as limit+ works better here, it leaves more bidding room. You can use 3♣/♦ as a trial bid after that. JLOL
With a stiff bid game opp a 4 card LR. Very good rule.
mich-b
With a stiff bid game opp a 4 card LR. Very good rule. I would suggest :With anything other than a minimum 5332 bid game opp a 4 card LR.
whereagles
An even better rule is to use invitational sequences as SLAM invites :P
petergreat
You have a spade singleton and your super heart suit means partner's 10-12 points (assuming regular Bergen) has to be outside stoppers - just what you need.
Phil
With a stiff bid game opp a 4 card LR. Very good rule. I think I read this in a Bergen article at one time and it works remarkably well.
Apollo81
Come to think of it, I would also bid 4♥ opposite a regular preempt. Fielder's choice of -500/-620? I'd just pass in this case, maybe they won't bid game.
mtvesuvius
I shouldn't have even posted this... My father held this hand and passed. No, my father is not Phil Clayton :). I had Qx xxxx AQJxx Jx and the K♦ was on. Lose 10.
Phil
No, my father is not Phil Clayton :). I had Qx xxxx AQJxx Jx and the K♦ was on. Lose 10. ROFL. Even this underbidder find the game on this one.
keylime
Even I the sudden pessimist of late, bid 4 with ease.
Hanoi5
Definitely game-worthy. However, what is more likely to prompt them to sacrifice? 3♥ and 4♥ over their (hopefully) 3♠ or 4♥ right away?
