whereagles
2♥?? North's got a textbook take out dbl :P 3♠ is even worse, though.
mtvesuvius
North. North. North. What was 2♥ about?? This is a clear Double... South's bidding was reasonable, and in fact IMO, correct. 100% to North, and if I could give any more blame to North, then I would... rbforster
A sane auction would be: 1♦-(2♣)-X-(P)2♦-(P)-3♦-AP That said, South might consider a weak 2♦ opening too. Vul 2nd seat should be sound, and this hand would be nicely described by that.
rogerclee
A sane auction would be: 1♦-(2♣)-X-(P)2♦-(P)-3♦-AP Agree, every one of these bids is totally clear.
the hog
Agree with the above 2 posters. What was 2H when a sputnik double is so obvious?
jillybean
I'm south here. My 1♦ opening V in 2nd seat was on the light side and I can see why some would prefer 2♦. Oh well, a short and not so sweet partnership comes to an end none too soon! Sigh.
mtvesuvius
You did fine! :P Partner needs to be sent to the charity ball... :)

jdonn
Jilly you bid perfectly.
peachy
North created the mess with the mysterious failure to neg dbl and even more mysterious 2H bid which promises 5+ cards. South's bidding was normal.
Mbodell
Some might criticize the south second seat unfavorable opening. Depending on your system that criticism might have some merit, but I'm still opening this 1♦ and not 2♦ 100% of the time personally. The North not making the X was crazy. The 3♠ call was even crazier.
jikl
Say good riddance to North Jilly, you did nothing wrong despite what they said to cover up the mistake on their part. Sean
gwnn
2♦ would be very bad in my opinion, you bid your hand perfectly. You do not have a light opening bid, it is a minimum normal opening.
neilkaz
We have a new cute little puppy here now. After N bids like this and fails to make the most routine and obvious NegX with his hand, I will be leaving instantly to walk her.
jillybean
Thanks all. The bidding was awful but my partner spewing foul, public, comments about my bad bidding after the hand was worse!. I have not run into a character quite like this before, and I shudder to think of this guy and no doubt others free to roam BBO with their own grossly over estimated skill level. Ant590
This guy sounds like a quick email to abuse@bbo would do him some good.
Hanoi5
If you were South you'd rather kill North instead of leaving the game. I've heard bridge is played in prisons so killing North doesn't mean you'll stop playing bridge... Where did you play this game? You didn't make any mistakes, don't quit the game, quit that partner.
