All NV at IMPs (Playing 2 Juniors) you hold:

Jxx

KQx

xx

Axxxx

The (insane) auction:

                 You

       (1) - Pass - (2)

3 - (3) - 5 - (6)

7 - (X) - Pass - (7)

Pass - (Pass) - X - XX

All Pass.

It is not impossible that declarer has Kx of clubs opposite void. I've recently heard some pretty good players suggest that leading from KQ against the grand might not be so good as it might place the missing honors and let them know which squeeze or finesse to take, but I'd still be quite tempted by the K of heart lead in practice. But I think when presented as a problem, and maybe at the table, I try for the top diamond.

I opted for the K♥. This netted me Kxx x AKJxxxxx x in dummy. Declarer also had a stiff club. Lose 22. So yes, I guess LHO was a joker...

Depends on what you mean by joker. If he knew you were probably going to believe him and not lead A, he bid correctly.

Ouch, but not really sure what the X was supposed to accomplish? If you pass, wouldn't P's next call suggest a lead? If P x's, wouldn't that suggest a need for an unusual lead, either a or on this auction. I'd lead a if he x's. Pass indicates no need or preference for unusual lead, so wouldn't you then lead A? Just asking. :P

That's true :)

I doubled on principle, which of course was a bad choice, but it looked fun at the time...
