I think, in hindsight, this is a WTP pass, but are there any SOSers out there?
helene_t
Playing English Acol (4-card major before minor) I think I would SOS.
655321
Definitely redouble
andy_h
Maybe it depends on who my opponents are? But usually yes I would XX. I've learnt that when the opponents penalise you at the 1 level, they are dead serious.
mtvesuvius
I'm an SOSer. Especially since I don't think partner likes playing 4-1 fits doubled.
kfay
On these auctions 99% of the time I wouldn't even have to look at my cards to know what is the right thing to do. Redouble.

Are you saying that you redouble 99% of the time in this auction?

Ant590
Good, I'm glad to see my action at the table was reasonable, even if my hindsight wasn't 20/20! The full hand was [hv=d=w&v=b&n=sak87h53dat6cak96&w=st95haq87dj943cqj&e=sqj643hjtdkqct872&s=s2hk9642d8752c543]399|300|Scoring: MP[/hv] pass - 1♠ - pass - passdbl - pass - pass - rdblpass - 2♣ - all pass Out of interest, would people suggest that a forcing pass is on over the run? helene_t
If I remember correct we have had that discussion before and most people thought pass was nonforcing, based on the idea that East might have a weak hand with six or more spades, just hoping that 1♠x doesn't make too many overtricks if West doesn't have significant extras. East needs to double 2♣ though. BTW I wouldn't have balanced with the West hand.
Ant590
Actually I might have been the person who asked it before too :S Yeah, the traveller was mostly filled with 1S-1 and 1S-2s. My partner managed to win 8 tricks on a misdefense, for most of the matchpoints
jdonn
I would run even if playing 5 card majors. Which in my case is just another way of saying I would run.
the hog
XX, and I don't even really need to think too hard about this one.
kenrexford
XX. This exact sequence comes up in stories a lot, by the way. The usual theme is that Opener passes, Responder panicks, but Opener has every ounce of his pass even opposite a void.
