mtvesuvius
Final standings in the USBF Trials for Turkey: 1. Lall-Fournier; 171.762. Meckstroth-Dwyer; 168.663. Fay-Chiu; 156.394. Hudson-Marriott; 155.935. Lien-Brescoll; 155.566. Kaplan-Shunta; 148.987. Lieberman-Asarina; 148.148. Asbury-Delfs; 147.739. Wolkowitz-Zoogman; 146.16 10. Glickman-Katz; 145.4611. Guo-Price; 136.6612. Haas-Haas; 129.68 We're in!! :( :D Thank that schmuck who passed a takeout double and went for 570 on the last hand, thereby giving you a half board (2.08) ... Yes Jason, thank you! ;) It made up for my stupid screw up on the previous few boards, and we both still Qed... :)
mathmike
How is the combined score calculated? Also, I was told I was 8th (not 7th) and the 9th place pair was told they were 7th. So is this more up-to-date?

JanM
How is the combined score calculated? Also, I was told I was 8th (not 7th) and the 9th place pair was told they were 7th. So is this more up-to-date?The combined score was calculated as a play through event. There were 27 board sessions on Saturday and 24 on Sunday, so the Sunday score was factored down to account for there being fewer boards. So the total score was Saturday score (2 session total) + 8/9 of Sunday score. Given your BBO name, you'll probably be amused by the fact that the reason you were originally told the wrong order was because there was some confusion about how to calculate the total (I'd like to blame it on Excel, but in fact it was GIGO), which resulted in the first list counting the Saturday scores double. inquiry
Congratulations to the juniors who qualified and the others who played some exciting bridge. I kibitzed all 54 hands on Saturday, and I used the homebaseclub posting of Sunday’s 24 hands to take a look at all the ones on Sunday. Very exciting stuff. Well done. I am looking forward to perhaps kibitzing some of the team practices on BBO. Good luck in Turkey.

Gerben42
Congrats to all forum-guys who qualified :) I didn't see the auction but aren't almost ALL Dbls for TO?! EDIT: Just saw the hand: I guess it's a matter of agreement. It also depends what hands could have bid earlier, i.e. what do you do with reasonable minor-oriented hands? Anyway, no one will ask in two months time about this hand. If it's so close between two pairs, one can say that either deserved to qualify. Cascade
Yes well done to those who qualified. Do any of the players have any comments that they would like to make about having a trial online. Were there any upsides or downsides that might not be obvious to outside observers.

Now you get an 'oh-whatever' reaction and an instant lazy pass. We will never know that had I pulled, whether we would have been doubled. Three clubs undoubled, for seven tricks, would have been an average. Cameron and Adam could have qualified by doubling that anyways.
