kenrexford
♠xx ♥Qxx ♦Axx ♣KQJxx The opponents pass throughout. You open 1♣ and partner responds 1♥. Your style is to rebid 1NT. Partner now bids 2♠, so you show your heart fragment -- 3♥. Partner now cues 3♠, not a pattern-bid style but rather just showing good spades (two of the top three honors). You like your hand somewhat, but no reason for excitement yet. Instead of a serious 3NT, you opt for a more sane cooperative 4♣ cue, showing two of the top three clubs. Partner has the option of cuebidding 4♦ as Last Train. However, he instead whips out a relatively undiscussed 4♠ call. From past discussions in other sequences, this could be an "ask-or-answer" call, which allows you to either show (5♣+ as answers to RKCB) or ask (4NT), depending on whether you feel better placed to ask or answer. Based on what you already know and what you are looking at, what is your decision at this point?
