JLOL
Yes, obvious redouble. You have 10 points with excellent defense and short hearts. You might well get to double 2 of a minor if partner has some spade length which is great. If they have a spade fit you'll probably get to bid 1N next. Phil
Redouble is fine. You have great defense against any contract. You'll double 2 of a minor, and you'll sit if pard doubles 1♠, although you'll bid 1N if pard passes 1♠.
Hanoi5
I'd redouble, planning to double them in a minor suit contract.
mtvesuvius
XX I have great defense against anything, and will gladly pass if partner doubles 1♠, and will double 2m. We will almost always get a chance to show our hand if we decide to not double them.
hanp
This is a prototypical redouble.
neilkaz
XX I have great defense against anything, and will gladly pass if partner doubles 1♠, and will double 2m. We will almost always get a chance to show our hand if we decide to not double them. 100% agreement here. But have this auction with the typical adv/exp online pickup or even casual pd and watch it go astray. The other day I had to ask a "once in a while" PD why holding AqJ in ♦ wasn't adequate to pass my penalty double of 2♦ after I had XX'd. Of course, the NV 3N we ended up in had little play (he went off 1) and the vul opps were going for 800 in 2♦x and had nothing resembling a better harbor to dock in. (PD had opened ♠..I also had 4♥ and doubt the opps had 6 tricks in that suit or 7 in 3♣x.) Maybe I shouldn't be whining, but I see these XX auctions go astray all the time, inspite of playing Jordon 2N=limit+ and that XX basically denies a decent fit.
