fred
Uday and I have decided that our next major developmentproject will involve making BBO a truly multilingual program. This rates to take up almost all of my time and a significantpercentage of Uday's time during the next month or 2. Asa result, you may not see much in the way of new featuresand improvements to the software during this time. Both Uday and I are currently compiling a (long) list of all ofthe English words and expressions that the BBO software iscapable of displaying. When this is done, Uday will create aweb facility whereby people can enter the translations of elements of the English list. Data files for various languageswill be generated and the BBO client and server programs willbe able to read this files and display text in whatever languagesare available. Obviously we will need volunteers from among our membershipto provide the translations for various languages. We are notready to accept volunteer applications yet, but I thought it wouldbe a good idea to post our plans now so that any potentialtranslators out there can start thinking about this. In all likelyhood, the translation project will be our last majoreffort with the existing code base. Within a few months we areplanning on rewriting the entire client program more or lessfrom scratch. uday
I am looking for volunteers to help translate some text for use with BBO. Translation will consist of using a web page that shows you a series of message categories in English, selecting a category, then adding a translation for each message found in there. There are about 1500 messages per language. it takes many days to translate the full set of messages for each language. Currently, we need someone to - finish off French. It has been started, but we have about 300 messages to go. I'd also like this person to eyeball the already-entered set of messages. - start the Turkish translations Anyone up for this ? If you are, pls email me - uday at bridgebase.com
