I also think bidding game is clear, whatever partner is showing it certainly includes a lot of playing strength and we have some of that ourselves. And I think 2 last round was perfectly normal, the hand seems far too good for 3.

Just a preempt to me. He could cuebid something if he wanted to try for game. Pass seems clearcut.

I hate it when I have another bid then you. Certainly if it is clear cut.

Agree that 4C is preempt, but I would raise it to 5C. Prefer to do it now iso over 4S. ....maybe I should not expect 4S?

I agree with saving if they bid 4S, but they haven't bid it yet and I think there is enough of a chance that they won't. I retract my "clearcut", I really meant that 4C being preemptive was clearcut, but bidding 5C is def reasonable.

Agree that 4 should be preemtive. Passing or raising directly to 5 is a pretty close decision to me. Passing is right if opps aren't bidding 4, whereas 5 is better when they're going to bid over 4. I think I'll pass for now. And bid 5 is they bid 4, of course.

I think passing is clearly right in MPs. The 4 made life difficult for the next hand, and it worked. I think advancer would have to have a pretty rare hand to bid 4, so I pass. I am not going to volunteer for 5. Even if he does bid 4 I am not sure I am bidding 5. After all, opener may have as many as 4 spades and his are on top of the long suit.

I think it depends on what my initial 2 showed. If it was only 4 cards, the fifth together with my spade shortage means I will bid 5, but if partner understood I was showing 5 clubs with my first bid then I pass.
