I think I'm starting to become color blind, I can't read the auction.

I do hope I am not mistaken. I found that deal really interesting. We were 102 tables and playing ACBL on BBO as usual. Host and TDs are absolutely hospitable, always polite, friendly and serious people.

When i looked traveler i found different scores with different bidding styles. I have no idea anyone here also cares or not. Honestly, i would like to read if there are more firm ideas.

Believe or not I do not get interested either score or winning. Say someday, I hired professionals and became a star player on BBO or at anywhere. Okay it may sound a good feeling. Anyway I have a life and responsibilities except th game that i like since 1969. As a result obviously winning does not make me richest man of th world or helps to improve in any branch of live career. So, th game is just my amateur hobby like Chess. I thank to JMK114 who did partnership with me when i first registered on BBO 2.5 years ago for playing as partners over a year on teams. His bidding style, hand evaluations helped me to see new horizons about th game.

For sure I respect other players that day registered to tournament. But I feel there is something not works so good. Please let's care th language we use and if you imagine it's a very involved deal i expect to see objective, rationale ideas with fair reason/s.

Thanks!

6 diamonds

Only 2 tables reached slam with different auctions by East seats. Both doubled contracts.

8 tables including mine played 5 doubled again with different auctions by East.

43 tables played 5 undoubled again with different auctions by East seat.

I congratulate tb74 finished 5+2

Tb 44 played 5 undoubled by WEST (imo another interesting point) and TB 83 also played 5 doubled again by WEST.

I lost count, some tables even stayed low, some played doubled & undoubled, maybe a few NT and different scores. Quite interesting Tb 2 EW pair stayed 4. Most probably a double misunderstood.

Big percentage played contract on East seat and there were not unanimous approach.

Hamid,

when I saw the bidding, I really thought that this was insane.

But I do understand your idea that a direct 2 should show better diamonds. This was surely not insane, just not popular with this hand.

You had six diamonds you had 3 aces on the side, so I think that 2 is a much better bid then pass. When they play NT, you would like the lead of a diamond from Partner, even from Kx.

P.S. The bidding had worked well against me, I had double 5 Diamond too- I had not bid 3 but that is another story.

Thanks indeed Codo. I noticed today some pairs started with 2 Flannery. Some other 2 instead of 1.

yep a direct 2 bid is extremely dangerous but 3♦ then 4♦ is completely safe. LOL

 Did you really check other tables by analitical view? You remind me one of a polite, wise and loyal friend's words : There is no going to heaven in a sedan.

He is a notable bridge&chess expert in yr country, was my partner and teammate nearly a year on OKB in my good old days. Works in Bucarest, C-tin Suetin Street. Okay Son? B) Real life a bit different than th book you admired and mimic yr signature taken a quote there : Motion Mountain - The Adventure of Physics;Christoph Schiller. Hegel is too heavy for you :P

3?

4?????

The failure to bid 2D immediately is very poor. I also totally agree with Josh and with Han. North's bidding is....

You deserve to play this deal in 3D and against sound opponents you would.

Further, I have no idea whatsoever what this quote to Roland means, "There is no going to heaven in a sedan.".

csaba, bidding 2 first is a close decision, bidding 3 latter is also close opponents have a fit, you are on lead so no troubles of a silly Kx lead from partner, nothing wrong in there IMO.

What I find amazing is that our partner needed that both opponents and us to bid again to raise diamonds. This is the only insane thing (appart from north's bidding of course).

102 tables including mine. Only 2 tables reached slam . One doubled, th other undoubled.

Now :

I wonder if could be more effective bidding for EW, after :

a> opening 1

b> opening 2/2 * Flannery by North.

*Thanks to Bill Flannery, expert. Pittsburgh, USA

You don't want to be in a D slam for heaven's sake. It is a poor contract and very lucky to make.

Okay. Everything was on th right spot.

Have you any recommended sound auction? (Including 1 and with Flannery variants)

Ps. Correction abt traveler. "102 tables played same deal. Only Tb 98&99 reached slam, doubled, made. Honestly, congratulations."

Well over 1H I suspect

(1H) 2D (3H) 4D or 5D. If 4D then 5 from overcaller

As much as I hate this, I think you have to overcall, over (2D/H) I would overcall 3D. Now you will get to 5 again.
