Fluffy
E-W vulnerable. West dealer 1♠-2♥-3♦-ps3♠-ps-5♠-ps6♠-ps-ps At this point I was facing a J high hand with 3 hearts and was thinking about a sacrifice in 7♥. Opponents got their bids back to the biddign boxes, so did my partner, who started to inquiry about the 5♠ bid, and they went blablabla. In the end partner led ♥A, and dummy showed a couple of suits before I could stop them. I had to warn them before that the bidding wasn't over yet, but I can't help myself to just stay quiet and wait to see how long it takes to 3 people to realice something obvious. Since everything seemed so odd I just passed and let partner lead ♥A. Thanks to my nonsense, I got a well deserved zero since opponent played trumps on the opposite direction catching partner's ♠Q. 7♥ was -1700 at least, unless my RHO had 6 penalty cards, then I guess partner could manage to go for -1100. Wich would still be an awful score lol. But if director states that the hand is over and awards some 60 or 40% that would had been very good for us. What do you think he should had done had he been summoned?
hotShot
Opponents got their bids back to the biddign boxes, At that point you should say something before further damage occurs. The TD will most likely assume that you passed (in some manner) since the other 3 player all share this impression.

Hanoi5
You either had to stop them or call the Director when they started putting their bids back. Not calling the Director leads to so many problems that I think it should be penalized.
blackshoe
I have seen, in some bidding boxes, an orange card labelled "TD!" Its purpose would seem to be to indicate that nobody should do anything further until the director comes. Unfortunately, they seem to disappear rather quickly. Perhaps the TD is going through the boxes and throwing them away. :) In any case, the proper thing to do is to say something when people start picking up their bidding cards before the auction is over. I've even seen it go 1NT-(P)-3NT-pick up the bidding cards. I think the TD should be called whenever this happens, so that people learn to complete the auction as they're supposed to do. I do get a lot of objections when I call him, though, especially if I'm the last to call and I then pass. :) Still, if I don't call, people seem to keep doing it. :( If you do nothing, and then call the TD later, he probably won't have much sympathy for you. After all, you could have insisted on your turn to call, even after all the blablabla. Penalizing a player for not calling, though, is way over the top. As TD, I would not assume a player passed unless there was evidence that he had passed. Here, there's no such evidence. So in this case, I might apply Law 24 to exposed cards. That would surely annoy players enough that they might remember next time not to screw up in this way. Or it might annoy them enough to quit playing where I direct. :P OTOH, I would in this case want to ask you at the table why you didn't try to stop the lead, or the facing of dummy, or the picking up of the bidding cards, while they were happening. You had, it seems to me, lots of time to insist on your right to call, so why didn't you? I think it's going to be hard to convince me that you didn't acquiesce to the assumption of the other players that the auction was over, and if you can't, I'm not going to apply Law 24, and I'm not going to rule that the auction period isn't over. Fluffy
OTOH, I would in this case want to ask you at the table why you didn't try to stop the lead First of all I was gaining my time to think if I was gonna bid 7♥ or not, but trying to take advantage of the situation so that declarer doesn't really take into account that I am actually thinking! (if this is not ethicall please tell me) On the other side, I was looking at 3 people who where discussing between them without paying the slightiest attention to me, like if I wasn't there. I don't like being ignored so I wanted to make them look like fools :). Its hard to explain, I once walked 200 metres in the wrong direction while talking with a friend just to see how long it would take for him to realice we where heading towards the wrong place. Weird, but funny. Quite a bridge personality.
