aisha759
HI xx ;)) 1- Your partner and yourself can fill in the card together. i.e agreeing on conventions etc....(filling your card is sufficient because your partner can open it to have a look at it... i think he can even edit what you already have in there and save; of course if you agree to that) 2- As far as I know it's allowed, thats what it's there for, especially since your pd can also open it and look at it. 3-Has been answered in 1 and 2 :( 4- When you are at the table and click on conv. card, you have the option to chose "ours" or "theirs" i believe, 5- Cant answer this one soooo sorry.. hope the first 4 helped though. Good luck, Aisha

paulg
Hi all, since I found nowhere in bridgebase.com description of the use conv.card, I hope to get some answers to my questions from the forum. 1) Is it possible to share a card with my pd? I.e. Is it sufficient, if I fill in my card? Filling in a card and then selecting "use" will publish it to the table for your partnership. All players can then see the card, and save it to their own computers if they wish. 2) Is it allowed to look at my card during bidding? The Laws prohibit the use of memory aids, so technically this is not permitted in Duplicate Bridge. However there is nothing to stop anyone doing this and I expect most people do not realise this. 3) Can pd see my card during bidding?Yes, by hitting the CONV button and selecting "Ours". 4) how can I manage to see opps conv.cardsHit the CONV button - by default this shows the opps convention card. You can switch between cards using the "Ours" and "Theirs" options. 5) Is there anywhere a link to a description of this topic? thx a lot :(xx

An alternate method: Bring up the Online Help from any place in BBO (click the red HELP button at the lower right of most BBO windows). If you click the Ace of Spades (or "Show Index") at the top of the left frame of the help, you get an index. You can look up a lot of stuff in the index -- think of a word and go to that section. This includes looking up Convention Card.

Yes, but see Law 40 E2 in The WBF Code of Laws for Electronic Bridge 2001 SECTION SIXCONVENTIONS AND AGREEMENTSLAW 40 - PARTNERSHIP UNDERSTANDINGSE. Convention Card2. Referring to Opponents’ Convention CardDuring the auction and play, any player except dummy may refer to hisopponents’ convention card.If permitted by the sponsoring organisation, in special events such asindividual tournaments or tournaments using specified systems, a playermay refer to his own convention card.FOOTNOTE: Except as permitted in L40E2-Online, a player is not entitled, during the auction and play periods, to any aids to his memory, calculation or technique. However, sponsoring organisations may designate unusual methods and allow written defenses against opponents' unusual methods to be referred to at the table.
