kfay
[hv=d=n&v=e&s=sj8xhaqxdxxca109xx]133|100|Scoring: IMP1♦-(3♦)-?[/hv] Expert p and opps. 1♦ shows 4+ diamonds. 3♦ is natural, preemptive. Double here is takeout obviously, right? So now what?
qwery_hi
I would pass. Giving RHO 7 diamonds at these colors, that leaves us with no 8 card major fit or a 9 card club fit. I don't see a way to get partner to bid 3NT if that's the right spot to be.
MFA
3NT, wtp? :DThis is where I want to play and I think I'm rightsiding it more often than not (LHO could easily be void of diamonds, and if RHO has only 6 they tend to be with very solid secondary cards anyway). matmat
I think i double. how else are we going to get to 3nt or some such? (aside from me bidding it and hoping LHO is out...)
P_Marlowe
X. X is certainly for t/o, but since 1D showed +4,responder will not be surprised, if opener passesthe double out.If you really insist, call the X ooptional, card showing. With kind regardsMarlowe
Fluffy
If double is take out we all should be making this psyche more often. I don't have clear agreements on this matter, but I think partner is passing my double here anytime he has a K10xx or better. We don't need to find 4-4 major fits on this auction, bad breaks will often mean that we are better playing in NT. Anyway I bid 3NT with the hand given, diamonds do not trouble me as much as spades. fachiru
X.I don't care if it's t/o or penalty; I've got both covered.I really dislike 3nt now as I see 2 major flaws with it; a) if it's right, it wrongsides it, b)it gives up on defending 3♦ X, as partner clearly won't be able to hit it. mtvesuvius
3NT. LHO is probably void, and partner will hopefully have QTxx or something... Stoppers Schomppers!
MarkDean
I would double. I am happy if partner passes. Happy if partner bids 3NT. I can bid 3NT if partner bids 3M, paying off to Jxxx or worse with only six on my right. It seems unlikely partner will bid 4♣ given my hand: I hope s/he does not, I am not sure if I should raise or not.
Hanoi5
I'd double, hopefully partner will pass. If he bids a major I'll bid 3NT.
y66
Double. If p doesn't want to play 3DX, we can still get to 3N.
Apollo81
My first instinct was to double, but I sort of like the sick 3NT bid, putting the presumed diamond void on lead.
